About Erica Hartman

Erica Hartman is an Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers and a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America. She began her career in 1982 as both an art consultant and principal of a contemporary art gallery. She received her BA from Barnard College, an MBA from Columbia University, as well as an Appraisal Certificate from New York University. Over the past thirty years, she has developed an expertise in primary and secondary market purchases and sales of fine art, curated numerous shows with favorable critical reviews, and engaged in numerous consulting assignments for collection management systems, marketing services, and educational programs. Erica has earned the highest designations available to professional appraisers. She served as Board Member, Treasurer and Executive Committee Member of the Appraisers Association of America from 2008 through 2016.  She now serves as a member of the Personal Property Resource Panel of the Appraisal Foundation in Washington, D.C which is the nation’s foremost authority on the valuation profession that sets the Congressionally authorized standards, qualifications and valuation methods of personal property.
